Not only do I have a passion for this sport but I am extremely competitive, so the competition fits me well. Being on the lake is like attending church for me, watching nature unfold is very moving.

Growing up, fishing was not my first love, horseback riding was. I competed in the Girls Rodeo Association (GRA) amateur division during my teens, and then on to the Womens Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA). My event was Barrel Racing in which I competed, and rode against some of the best riders from across the United States.

I stopped competing on the WPRA circuit when a job offer in Dallas made it difficult for me to continue participating.

In 1986 I picked up a fishing rod and started fishing with my brother in a club tournament trail that he was fishing. I was good enough to walk away with the Angler of the Year trophy. My destiny from that point forward was to work towards competing as a professional angler.

My ride went from a quarter horse to a bass boat!
